Dr. Panduka Neluwala is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. He is affiliated with the Fluid and Environmental Engineering Laboratory. Dr. Panduka earned his BSc (Hons) in Civil Engineering from the University of Peradeniya with First-Class Honors in 2012, receiving two awards. He obtained his MEng from The University of Tokyo in 2015, earning the Furuichi Kimatake Prize for Outstanding Master Thesis, and completed his PhD there in 2018. His research focuses on climate change, flood prediction, weather forecasting, and water resource management. Dr. Panduka teaches Engineering Hydrology and Hydraulics and has published over 30 technical papers. He is the principal investigator for multiple ongoing Master and PhD research projects and has secured several local research grants. He was the Director of the Sri Lanka-Japan Study Centre in 2022 and served as the President of the Civil Engineers’ Society at the University of Peradeniya in 2021 and 2022. Dr. Panduka is a member of the International Water Association (IWA) and an associate member of the Institute of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL).
